Harold James er professor i historie og International Affairs ved Princeton University i USA, og forskningsmedarbeider ved Center for International Governance Innovation.
Han er spesialist på tysk økonomisk historie og globalisering, og har medforfattet den ferske boken "The Euro and The Battle of Ideas". Han har også skrevet bøkene "The Creation and Destruction of Value: The Globalization Cycle", "Krupp: A History of the Legendary German Firm" og "Making the European Monetary Union".
